Surf. PHOTO OF THE DAY

Wish I were here....

Beer. BROOKLYN BREWERY

I love Beer.  Ashley and I recently visited Brooklyn Brewery, took a tour, had some great beers and met this guy....

This is Monster.  He is the Brewery's mascot and he has his own blog...why wouldn't he?
My personal favorites: Brooklyn Lager, Summer and Local 1.

Tattoo. Sailor Jerry

In my search for ideas for my next sleeve, I continue to come back to Mr. Norman Collins.  Although I hate that fact that he is so popular now, his work really does speak for itself.  Its old school, its raw and it is fucking great.  Next piece... a full arm dedicated to the man who changed the scene forever...

Here are a few of my favorites, Enjoy.

Film. INSPIRING...

Music. JOHN BUTLER TRIO

Ashley and I recent went to see John Butler Trio at Terminal 5, July 27th and as expected they fucking blew us away, without a doubt one of my favorite artists.  Even better John's wife opened the show with John (the 2 make up the group, Brave and the Bird), playing only the second time for an audience.  Well worth it... go see them, you won't be disappointed.

Two of my favorite songs:

Style. ACCESSORY OF THE DAY

WATCH / BRACELETS COMBO - There really isn't a wrong way to do this.  Take your everyday watch and add a few bracelets to add some depth.  But too many and they become overwhelming...

To little and they go unnoticed.
The key is sticking with the same color scheme ( for the most part - a little color can go a long way ), i.e Brown watch band, stick with darker leather straps, small beads, rope.  Add one colored for some pop.  Live dangerously?  Add a little metal into the mix, not as much as the T man but a few of my favorites are the fish hook bracelet (Jcrew, P/B) and the double casing bracelets (Miansai), combining both metal and rope.
Mix it up, see what works...Its not fucking rocket science!

Music. DMB CARAVAN TOUR

Picked up tickets for Ashley and I for the Dave Matthews Band Caravan Tour on Governors Island, Saturday August 27th.  Line up is pretty insane including Dispatch, MOE and Josh Ritter.  Island photos to follow...

Pick up Dispatch's newest EP, released in May of this year.  It is the bands first studio recording in over 10 years and its so fucking good.  On itunes or if your like me and still purchase CD's or Vinyl, Jacks Music Shoppe.

Models. IRINA SHAYK

I recently met Irina Shayk at our studios here at Splashlight.  She was shooting a video for an upcoming video game she is taking part in.  For those of you who don't know who she is, Irina is the cover model for the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition (amongst many other magazines / ads / etc.).  She was really nice, down to earth and even slouched down for our photos (she's a tall one!).
Thanks Robert Greene for the photos.
